Transforming lives across remote tribal villages of Paderu through clean water, healthcare, education, and the eternal light of divine love.
"Free education, free medical aid, and free basic amenities like drinking water — Education is for the head; medical care is for the heart; and pure water is for the body."
— Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba
Sri Sathya Sai Girijana Seva Trust, Paderu, works extensively in the tribal and rural regions of Ananthagiri and Araku areas of Alluru Seetharama Raju district, Andhra Pradesh — covering 750+ villages across 11 zones and 103 samithis.
The Ananthagiri Ghats lie 100 km from Visakhapatnam and consist of around 3,500 hamlets with a population of 9.6 lakhs. Primitive tribal groups including Kodh, Boorja, Gadaba, Nookadora, and Kondadora live here. Bhagawan personally blessed the water project in Sai Kulwant Hall on April 5, 2008, saying: "I know… I know about this project. Go ahead. You have My Blessings."
"The trust's work is an extension of Bhagawan's love — every drop of water that reaches a tribal home, every eye restored to sight, every child who learns to read — these are offerings at the feet of the Lord."
— Shri Karnam Ganesh, District PresidentThe true story of how Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba personally recognized the tribals' plight and blessed the water project.
A group of Sai Youth from Visakhapatnam brought tribal villagers to Prasanthi Nilayam for Darshan. When asked what they wanted, the villager said simply: "Drinking water, Swami."
Swami looked at the plan and said with a smile: "I know… I know about this project. Go ahead. You have My Blessings."
Seven Sai Youth set out at 7 AM from Visakhapatnam to survey tribal areas. Trekking up rocky inclines, they discovered the hamlet of Galipadu — where a picture of Bhagawan was found on a hut door.
"Where there is Love, there is God."
"Until I saw the Sai Youth serving, I always thought helping the tribals is somebody else's duty."
— Ashok, tribal villager"If the Sai Youth ask us to change the practice, we will do so willingly — because they speak to us with so much love."
— Sriramulu, tribal leaderToday, the Ananthagiri Ghats reverberate with "Sai Ram." De-addiction from alcohol has happened across entire communities.
